Blogging

I am not really sure what to make of this web log. I do not have a certain subject or theme for it, but I have been posting on various bits and pieces for over a year now. My main purpose is to keep the blog for my own use - I can put links, ideas and references here when I come across them and then go back to them at a later time. I have not quite figured out how to put the blog to good use with regards to the PhD, I am working on, aside form posting links to conferences.I have decided to do something about that. I read Russell Beattie's blog on a regular basis and yesterday he included some advice on blogging in a post on the Yahoo Blog Guidelines (the advice came originally from Jeremy Zawodny's blog). Both Russell and Jeremy are employees at Yahoo. The advice was essentially to consider blogging alike to "writing a quick email to a friend" and not to worry whether the writing is especially great or correct (this is an issue for me, being a Dane writing primarily in english (danglish?)).

I have decided to act according to the advice and I will try to post something every day. If not about anything else, then about what is going on and what I am busy doing or thinking about.
