ShoZu version 1.6

I just received news that a new version of the ShoZu mobile photo sharing application is out - version 1.6. ShoZu, by the way, has just been awarded "Best Mobile Messaging Service" by the GSM Association, at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.

Details about the update from the ShoZu notice:

* Option to automatically synchronise your phone address book with your personal account at the ShoZu web site*
* Change image titles on your phone before (or after*) upload
* Rotate images on the phone before (or after*) upload
* Add titles, descriptions and tags before sending from the camera application*
* Easier tagging of images on the phone
* Improvements to the ShoZu user interface on the phone.

(* Marked features are available for selected photo sharing sites and / or selected phones; see www.shozu.com/portal/tour.do?operation=features for full details.)

Firefox Bookmarks Synchronizer

I enjoy using the Mozilla FireFox browser and I particularly like FireFox's extension capability. One of the most usable extensions to me is the ability to synchronize my bookmarks via ftp, using the Bookmarks Synchronizer by Torisugari. In a typical day, I use several different machines and it is quite handy to have my bookmarks "follow me around".

One problem is for extension developers to keep up with the rapid development of the Firefox browser itself. On several occasions, I have performed an update to Firefox, only to discover that one or several of my extensions could not be updated too. Through the update mechanism of Firefox, that is. Often it is possible to find an updated version of an extension elsewhere.

This is just what happened for me today: I upgraded Firefox to version 1.5.0.1 and was warned that the Booksmarks Synchonizer extension would not be working after the update. I then went looking and found a 1.5.0.1-compatible version of Bookmarks Synchronizer. Totally sweet!

On the page where I downloaded the updated Bookmarks Synchronizer from, I also found a link to an "unofficial" version of one of Torisugari's other extensions: the Sort Bookmarks extension.
