Pampers Tumlastik CD

As part of a promotion of their Active Fit diapers, we have received this CD and leaflet from Pampers.

The leaflet shows various 'tumlastik' exercises you can do with your baby and the accompanying CD supposedly contains music appropriate for exercising. The only problem is that the CD is hilariously horrible (I am not the first to notice this). The music is sort of OK, but the person singing cannot sing. He (or she? I really cannot tell) does so in a high pitched, off-key squeaky voice. Also, the quality of the recording is pretty bad in itself.

Well, Listen for your self:

  1. "Den lille Ole med paraplyen"
  2. "Mester Jacob" (Frère Jaques/Bruder Jacob)
  3. "Så går vi rundt om en enebærbusk"
  4. "Lille Peter Edderkop"

N80 IE Arrived

The Nokia N80 IE I ordered from Proshop yesterday arrived today.

N80 IE product package N80 IE product package

The product package contained:

  • Handset
  • CD
  • 256 Mb MiniSD card
  • BL-5B battery
  • HE-23 headset
  • CA-53 USB data cable
  • N80 manual, N80 IE "add on" manual and a quick start guide

So far I have been mostly messing with WLAN connectivity and it seems to work pretty well. If you do not broadcast the SSID of your network you have to remember to set network status to "hidden" when you add the connection to the phone ("Tools" -> "Settings" -> "Connection" -> "Access Points" -> "Options" -> "New access point"). If you fail to do so (I did) the phone will be unable to connect to your network.

You probably need the handset's MAC address at some point and it's actually printed on the front label of the product package. Look for the line that reads "WLAN: #####" - this number is the MAC address. Before figuring that out, I looked through the manual and found out that the handset will display the MAC address if the following code is typed in: '*#62209526#'

Maternity Leave

I have now been on maternity leave for a whole week. It's hard work (which is why I have not had the time to blog about it), but it's great fun to get to spend so much time with Anna.

I'll be on leave until mid-january so I hope I'll be able to write a bit about what it is like.

N80 IE Available in Denmark

Just a quick heads up:

N80 internet edition (N80 IE) handsets are now in stock at the Danish online retailer MonaTel.

BTW: At nokia.dk I signed up to be notified by email once N80 IE became available. Even though N80 IE has now been moved to 'current' handsets from 'upcoming' handsets, I have not been notified. Strange…

Nokia N80 internet edition Now Available

This is a follow up on my effort to track availability of the Nokia N80 internet edition (N80 IE).

As reported by the Norwegian handset release tracker site, lanseringsguide.amobil.no, two Norwegian retailers now have N80 IE in stock. The retailers are:

  • mamoz.no (N80 IE priced NKR 600 ∼ $100 above "plain" N80)
  • netshop.no (N80 IE priced NKR 300 ∼ $50 above "plain" N80)

Shouldn't be long before these handsets also reach Denmark!
