6 GB miscroSD card for your N95

SanDisk - world leader among manufacturers of flash memory - has just launched a microSD (Secure Digital) card capable of storing 6 GB of data. I vividly recall when I got a new personal computer that featured a 20 MB hard drive. I was happy like a pig in dirt so to me, 6 GB is a lot of data.

The 6 GB card is for instance in stock at mymemory.co.uk (£36.99) and just about to be stocked at ProShop.dk (DKK 390,-).

In a situation like this, the question is always if this new card is compatible with your phone? Well, if your are the owner of a Nokia N95 (or N76) the answer is yes - not only is the 6 GB card included on SanDisk's list of N95 compatible memory cards, some very nice people have taken it upon themselves to get hold of a card to test it with a N95. The result can be seen in the image to the right…

I am glad I did not buy one of the 4 GB cards!

There is also an 8 GB microSD card in the pipeline and it looks as if the 8 GB will also work with the N95. That is nice for those of us that own an "old" N95 - even if we do not get the cool display of the 8 GB version of the N95, or the cool battery, or the cool amount of RAM, we are able to get the same amount of memory….
