Dude, what ever happened to my blog?
Traffic on this blog - gersbo.dk - has plummeted quite abruptly and I cannot help but wonder, if I somehow lost (some of) my street cred with Google?
It is either that, or Internet users world wide seem to have unanimously decided my musings are no longer worthwhile…
It is not like this site has ever been a real magnet of attention, but over the past six months or so, I have been very happy to see both traffic and comment activity grow at steady rates. As indicated by the above graph gersbo.dk received between 300 and 450 daily hits until about a week ago, where traffic suddenly dropped below 100 hits daily.
Numbers have stayed there since and it is really weird because I have no clue why this is so - I have not modified any part of my blog setup, just posted a few entries. From the visitor statistics collected by statcounter.com I can see that especially visitors from the US no longer stops by and if I check link: www.gersbo.dk at Google, the result omits several .com sites I know link here. As I said, weird…
So, if you happen to be in the very select group of people that actually read this - and if you have any idea what might be going on - could I trouble you to enlighten me by commenting or dropping me a line at gersbo [at] gmail [dot] com?

Overall it seems quite strange. Has traffic increased again?
You should use Yahoo Site Explorer instead of Googles link-search. Google’s link-search isn’t really up-to-date. You get better results with Yahoo Site Explorer. Try this instead:

Hello Morten, and thank you for the link to Yahoo Site Explorer. I have had a look at it and it does indeed seem to yield more thorough results.
Traffic has not increased again, as you can see in this graph showing the traffic this week:
I have no idea what is going on!

I think I have found what has caused the drop in traffic: gersbo.dk was hacked :-(
