Indicator LEDs light up Nokia 6220 Classic like a Christmas Tree
One of the things that has struck me about the Nokia 6220 Classic is the heavy use of light indicators on the device.
The phone is basically lit like a Christmas tree, and if you are the kind of person easily annoyed by such, this thing may keep you up at night. Anyone remember the N80's blue status LED?
Please allow me to iterate through the major indicators; their respective functions; and how to switch them off (if possible).
Camera Button Indicator
When the camera is activated, the camera button lights up. AFAIK it cannot be switched off (which is ok, since it is only on when the camera is actually used).
GPS Signal LED
This indicator will start flashing when the builtin GPS receiver attempts to get a satellite fix (for geotagging, Navigation etc.). Once a connection has been established, the indicator remains on. AFAIK it cannot be switched off (which is ok, since it is only on when GPS is actually used).
Scroll Key Status Indicator
The 6220C's scroll key is encircled by a blue indicator light. Like the aforementioned blue status LED of the Nokia N80, this status indicator basically lets you know the phone is on. It works in two modes: a "normal" mode in which the indicator is lit for about 3 seconds, every 20 seconds or so; a "missed events" (incoming call or message, appointment etc.) mode in which the indicator flashes for about 2 seconds, every 3 seconds or so. The indicator remains in the "missed events" mode for an hour after the event.
As soon as you bring the 6220C into your bedroom, you will be thankful this last indicator can be switched off. Here is how: "Settings" | "Phone sett." | "General" | "Personalisation" | "Standby mode" | "Status light" | "Off".
I have made a quick video that demonstrates the three indicators:

I’m not too fond of all those indicators. Sure they might come in handy for some, but all that flashing is way over the top IMO. Good thing most can be turned off.
How are you liking it thus far?

I like most things about it - I have posted some initial impressions.
