Nokia 6220 Classic on the scene

Car accident

My brother was involved in a car accident on Saturday, which pretty much totaled our parent's car.

My brother called me minutes after the accident had happened - with panic in his voice he told me he had hit someone in a nearby roundabout. Needless to say, I just grabbed my mobile phone and my car keys, and ran to the car.

Arriving at the scene of the accident, I was relieved to learn that my brother not hurt (besides some bruises), and was not to blame for the accident: A Norwegian family on vacation had for some reason taken the wrong way round the roundabout. My brother had pulled into the roundabout and within seconds crashed head-on into the Norwegian family, coming from the opposite direction. According to my brother, the only thought he had time to think was: "What!! Did I just make the wrong turn?".

Luckily none of the two vehicles had had the time to build up speed, so the damage done was mostly material.

I actually think my parent's is totaled - as you can see from the pictures the hood looks as if it has been opened with a giant can opener - both driver and passenger side air bags were released.

I decided to document the accident using my Nokia 6220 Classic - partly because I was unsure about what kind of documentation was needed for a subsequent insurance claim, but also because my parents are currently vacationing in the US.

Skide nordmænd/da** Norwegians :) . Sorry to hear about the accident, but I’m glad to hear your brother is well.

Who would think we have roundabouts in Norway, but we actually have. Our roads are partly of very poor standard, though.

The Danish roundabouts are more ’spacy’ than the Norwegian, but the traffic goes counter-clockwise, just like in Norway. The Danes are clever users of direction lights. In Norway you’ll have to guess where drivers are heading. I can tell that from numerous pleasant holidays in Denmark.

    Dude,

Glad to see everyone made it out alive!
Keeping with the car theme - I have a question for you regarding the 6220 Classic: Would you mind investigating for me?

I recently had the good fortune to have a play with the Nokia N96 and, while I played, I downloaded and played Global Race.

Check out my compare and contrast - here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6zkJYF1w6A

However, something that has been asked in the comments is, does Global Race play OK on the 6220c?

Can you help me answer this question?

    Cheers,

    Whatleydude

    Hi James,

Short answer: Yes, Global Race plays ok on the 6220C.

I grabbed the Global Race installation file from the E90 support site and installed it on my 6220C - no problems. It plays fine on the 6220C, although performance is not exactly stunning.

Did you get a chance to look at the video I linked to?

Would you say it was performing better or worse than the N96?
    (or just like it?)

I did, but I will let you be the judge. I have tried to post a video response to your video, but YouTube crashes my browser when I try to do so.

Here is a video of Global Race on the 6220C so you can compare:

The video also reveals how profoundly I suck at Global Race…
