Stevie Wonder and new Ovi features rock my N82
I went to Stevie Wonder's concert in Aalborg last night and the man really is a musical genius. Definitely one of the best concerts, I have been to.
I brought my N82 to the concert and used it to shoot some photos and videos. Uploading to "Share on Ovi" using "Share Online" this morning made me appreciate just how much the new video quality on "Ovi", and the sound quality on the N82, rock. Check out the video above - I am aware the image sucks big time because it was recorded from much too far away, but check out the quality of the sound! It is really excellent, in my honest, non-audiophile opinion.
I was at the concert with a group of friends, all of which had recorded bits of photos, video and sound during the concert. As we compared notes on the way home, there was general agreement the N82 provided the best quality recordings.
One thing is the quality of the stuff recorded by the N82, another issue is the quality once files are uploaded to "Share On Ovi". Traditionally, putting videos up on places like Ovi, or YouTube resulted in a significant degrade in quality, because the videos need to be processed for flash embedding and playback.
However, the Ovi service was recently updated, which included a change to file format and transcoding used for the videos uploaded to the service. The upgrade means that the videos you put up on Ovi now looks significantly better - I was truly surprised when I had a look at the concert videos I uploaded from my phone. Look at the videos in this post and judge for yourself - if you want to know more about the Ovi upgrade, check out the Share on OVI blog.
